Healthy Food List and Snacks

Healthy balanced is the goal to looking and feeling your best!  Make sure you are eating the right amount of protein, carbohydrates and fats for your body and your goal.  If you need help figuring out what  your body needs feel free to contact me and I can help you figure it out!  Fill your plate with lean protein, lots of vegetables, a whole food carbohydrate and have some fruit too.  Focus on eating whole real food 90% of the time, and allowing some room for your favorite treats, lets be real we all have those cravings once in a while, and it really is okay to save about 10% of your calories for a treat now and then.  Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, a good rule of thumb: about half your body weight in ounces (example: 150 pound person should get about 75 ounces in water daily).
This is not an all inclusive list but is a good place to start!  Try some of my healthy recipes too, trying new things can really help keep you on track!

Lean Proteins:
Organic Free Range Chicken
Wild Caught Fish/Seafood- flounder, snapper, trout, halibut, mackerel, bass, salmon, shrimp
Organic Grass Fed Beef- steaks, ground beef, ribs, rump roast, stew meat
Organic Pork- loin, chops, ribs, bacon, roast
Lamb- chops and rack
Venison steaks

Whole Grain Oats
Whole grain pasta (look for the kind with one ingredient)
Brown Rice
Ezekiel Sprouted grain bread
Kodiak cakes pancake mix
All greens
Brussels sprouts
*Really any veggie you can think of!
*Limit on Startchy veggies if fat loss is your goal- beets, acorn squash, butternut squash, yams, sweet potatoes

*Any fruit you like!

Coconut oil
Olive Oil
Macadamia oil
Avocado oil

Nuts and seeds:
Pine nuts
Macadamia nuts
Sunflower seeds
*Any of these as nut butters

Sweeteners: Limit or avoid if fat loss is your goal.  Use in moderation.
Organic Raw Local Honey
Organic Pure Maple Syrup
Organic Coconut Sugar

Occasional Treats:
Red Wine
Organic Dark Chocolate- 70% or higher
*Allow your self to have treats now and then!  Life is the cupcake!

Herbs and spice:- use to spice up meals!

Healthy Food Snack List:

Banana topped with almond butter
Cashews with apple
Chopped Pineapple and almonds
Turkey meatballs with cut veggies-carrots, celery, cucumbers
Turkey or beef jerky and apple
Chicken beast wrapped in romaine lettuce
Hard boiled eggs with peach
Cheese stick with ham and cantaloupe
